Pom-general performancepolyformaldehyde is a smooth, shiny hard and dense material,yellowish or white, thin-walled part of the translucent. Thecombustion characteristic is easy to burn, continue to burn afterleaving the fire, the upper end of the flame is yellow, the lowerend is blue, melting dripping occurs, there is a strong pungentsmell of Formaldehyde, fishy smell. Polyformaldehyde is a whitepowder, generally opaque, good coloring, specific gravity 1.41-1.43G / cm, molding shrinkage 1.2-3.0% , molding temperature °C, drying conditions 80-90 °C for 2 hours. The long-term heatresistance of POM is not good, but it can reach 160 °C inshort-term. The short-term heat resistance of homopolymer POM isover 10 °c higher than that of copolymerized POM, but the long-termheat resistance of copolymerized POM is about 10 °c higher thanthat of homopolymer POM. It can be used in the temperature rangeof-40 °C ~ 100 °C for a long time. Pom Is easy to decompose, thedecomposition temperature is 240 degrees, the decomposition ofirritating and corrosive gases occur. Therefore, die steel shouldbe made of corrosion-resistant materials. Pom-mechanical propertiesPOM high strength, stiffness, good elasticity, good wearresistance. Its Mechanical Properties are excellent, specificstrength up to 50.5 MPA, specific stiffness up to 2650 MPA, veryclose to the metal. The mechanical properties of Pom Changed Littlewith temperature, and the change of copolymerized POM was slightlylarger than that of homopolymerized POM. The impact strength of POMis higher than that of ABS and PC, but the impact strength of POMis sensitive to notch. The fatigue strength of POM is veryoutstanding. The fatigue strength of POM under 10 cyclic loading is35MPA, while that of PA and PC is only 28MPa. The creep behavior ofPOM is similar to that of PA. The creep behavior of POM is only2.3% at 20 °C, 21 MPA and 3000 H. The Friction Coefficient of POMis small, the wear resistance of POM is good (POM & GT; PA66 & GT;PA6 & GT; ABS & GT; HPVC & GT; PS & GT; PC) , the limit PV is verybig, the self-lubrication is good.
